"Impressive Vietnam" in Germany


The 43rd international tourism fair took place at the world largest exhibition centre in Berlin, Germany from March 11-15. 25 Vietnamese companies joined the event with the “Impressive Vietnam” program.

“Impressive Vietnam,” with many discount tours, attracted many foreign travel firms and visitors.

The Vice-Chief of the Tourism Market Agency, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen The Thang, said “Impressive Vietnam” mainly advertised the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi capital and Ha Long Bay, a potential candidate for the seven new wonders of the world.

Thang said the global economic crisis has stricken all Vietnamese tourism companies. Tourism will be part of the Vietnamese government’s economic stimulus package. Accordingly, the government will fund the construction of tourism infrastructure, such as road and hotels, ethnic travel Vietnam.

Some Vietnamese tourism companies recently came to Spain to advertise Vietnamese tourism. Thang said Spain is a potential market, which can bring about a large number of tourists to Vietnam in the future.

After the fair in Germany, some Vietnamese companies have gone to Russia.

The International Tourism Fair in Berlin had more than 11,000 stalls of 187 countries. The event lured around 170,000 visitors.
