The central province of Quang Binh is known as land of resounding, heroic feats of arms in wartime. It is also a land of beautiful landscapes, particularly Phong Nha - Ke Bang which was recognized as a world natural heritage by UNESCO in 2003.

From Dong Hoi City in Quang Binh Province to the Hoan Lao T-junction, turn left on Provincial Road No. 2 to the northwest for about 16 kilometers to get to the Son River and then to the famous and majestic Phong Nha Cave.
